New Year’s Eve is just around the corner, which means that it’s time for you to reflect on the past year, and to start looking forward to the upcoming year. Yes you’ve probably made plenty of mistakes, but you’ve got a whole new year to resolve them and start fresh. If you’re like most American’s then at least one of the top three resolutions below has made your resolution list this year.
Getting in Shape
This is a great resolution if you have the motivation and resolve to take action. There are numerous mental and physical benefits to being fit. You can reduce your risk for several cancers as well as heart disease. Weight-loss can also help to improve your mood and self-esteem. In short, staying fit will help you to look and feel great about yourself.
Quitting Smoking
Smoking is bad, we all know this but quitting is easier said than done. Most smokers have tried to quit at one time or another and the average smoker must attempt to quick about four times before actually succeeding. If this sounds like you, you may need to invest in an over-the-counter nicotine replacement therapy treatment to help you reach your goal this time.
Cutting out the Booze
Completely cutting out alcohol from your lifestyle can be a drastic change. While there are obviously numerous health benefits, you’ve got to have the right mindset if you really want to make a positive change. In most cases, its best if you gradually work towards your goal of less or no alcohol consumption if you hope to make it.
Whether it’s getting off the bar stool, dropping the cigarettes or hitting the gym this year, American’s are chock-full of resolutions. They are certainly easier said than done, so be realistic this time around and make a plan for success.
