February 28th, 2010 — positive thinking
"Ugh… I just can’t stand the thought of having to write another article. What’s the point, it’s not going to work – it’s not like people care." Wow – what kind of impression did that start you off with? I bet you thought I was negative, depressing and had no consideration for what others think. Hmm… well than I guess I got your attention and I’ve definitely made my point.
Having a positive attitude has a major impact, not only on yourself but also on those around you. From the situation I just put you into, you can tell I merely made the situation of writing this article impossible and negative from the start. If I continued on with such negativity, I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to finish it. Also, not only did I start myself off with a negative attitude, I also made you feel like the article wasn’t going to be worth your time, let alone valuable or positive.
Right from the start, as you sought advice or content on a positive attitude, you were probably wondering how this article would pertain. Of course, you wanted to leave instantly – no one wants to be around someone who is constantly negative and wears them down. If you want to be happy, if you want to build relationships, and if you want people to listen and trust in what you are saying – you need to have a positive attitude.
So, now that I’ve made my point, let’s expand on the process of obtaining a positive attitude that leaves a lasting impression, not one that makes people run.

How can those frustrating instants be worthy?
Here is how: Frustrations can indicate that you need to take a step back. We start things when we have fresh minds, but as time pass things become complex and sometimes we find road block and fall into frustration. That is the right time to stop and take a step back to look at the big picture.
Take the time to find out the original goal and see if you are still on the right path. You may determine that you have some way started a road you never actually intended to go. Take your time and re-think is it correct goal that you want to achieve and I assure you that you will find that you have saved yourself a lot of time, effort, and money on something you did not want to be involved with anyway.
Right time to brainstorm
Working on a plan not so easy. When we start a thing we take them casually. We just think of a solution and go for it but when we run into frustration, it is right to do brainstorm and find new opportunity. You will find most cost effective opportunities available by taking some time to do some research.

Is being stressed out a common occurrence for you? While a little stress can be good for you – it can motivate you and push you to your potential, many of us are dealing with too much stress.
Unrelenting stress, whether it is concerns about finances, job stress or the over-committed responsibilities can occur on a daily basis, can mean that the fight or flight response can be activated most of the time.
This chronic stress can be harmful to your health and well being. This makes dealing with stress a priority for you.
One of the first steps to managing stress to know what is causing your stress.
The old adage that "You can’t fix a problem until you can recognize the causes" is true of stress management as well!

February 22nd, 2010 — Self-esteem, Self-improvement
Self belief or motivation is the pedestal of all positive energy and affirmative activities that you indulge in through out your lifetime. Possibly these two qualities are much more significant in comparison to your self respect. The way you express and interpret things to yourself is extremely essential. If you really wish to enhance your motivation power as well as self belief, you require a strong desire which will show you the way.
Not always motivation comes from within. At times you might feel motivated by various external factors. For instance an influential person may be your friend or relative can persuade you to begin something innovative or push you towards a positive direction. Furthermore you can feel encouraged by devotion or faith in divinity and by serving the social causes. Sometimes one can feel like starting afresh and accomplish pending tasks driven by a series of negative events.

February 21st, 2010 — Attraction
Gratitude is one aspect of working with the law of attraction that many people forget about. If you are not having the success that you might have hoped for in using the law of attraction to manifest your desires in your life a lack of true gratitude could be an area that perhaps you haven’t been focusing on.
But why is gratitude so important in successfully leveraging the power of the law of attraction? There are two reasons.
First, without having gratitude towards what you already have in your life and also towards what is coming to you through the power of the law of attraction you may be inadvertently sending a bit of a mixed message. I could be almost like focusing upon what is lacking in your life instead of focusing upon what you have and what is actually already a part of your life yet has not yet appeared in your reality yet.
Be grateful for what you have and the promise of what is about to appear in your life. Be happy for the shelter you have, the relationships that you enjoy, the income that is there, the health of your body, soul and mind and the ever expanding riches in all of these areas that are yours but for the taking. Live in joyous exultation for all that you do enjoy on a daily basis and the gifts in all of these areas that are promised to you that are in reality yours but just can’t be seen with your eyes at the moment.

Mindmapping has caught on in recent years as a useful tool in the corporate and educational sectors. Using bright colors and attractive imagery, it is extremely useful in such things as presentations and group brainstorming sessions. However, it can be equally useful in so many other ways too. Here is a look at some of those ways.
It can be used to record information in extraordinary detail on a single page. Whilst studying for my diploma in reflexology, there were lists to learn of which combination’s of reflexes corresponded to various ailments – extremely complex stuff which I broke down into mindmaps or perhaps ‘footmaps’. I got through my exam with 96%… proof that mindmapping is effective because, giving my advancing years, I wouldn’t have achieved such a high mark otherwise!
How about using a mindmap to record a journey or a trip? Rather than pages of entries in a journal, instead simply use a mindmap to jot down places, events, impressions, people, food, colors, traditions, sights and sounds. You can even add your companions’ perspectives. When you get home, your mindmap/s will provide you with information to label your photos, write up your journal, produce an article, regale your friends…. a multitude of possibilities.

February 19th, 2010 — Grief Loss
As a long-time performer – singer/songwriter – many events from my private life have appeared in songs. When my brother took his own life, and many years later, when my beloved husband of thirty years suddenly died, I brought those experiences to the stage as well in the form of songs and stories.
Because that kind of public sharing is unusual, the theme struck a chord with members of the audience. I talked with many of them about how I was dealing with these tragic losses. And people have often asked me how I was able to sing and share my feelings about these deaths onstage.
The 7 tips below reflect some of the things I learned about my own grieving process. The words come from personal experience on ways to deal with grief.
7 Ways To Deal With Grief
1. Talk about your loved one – a lot.
I knew that people would wonder if they should bring up Nicholas’s name. They would wonder if I would burst into tears and suffer from the questions. The truth was that I yearned to talk with people about him. I felt better in doing so.
I think that in talking, we keep that person closer to us. When a person you love has recently died, there is often a feeling that they are still "here." Perhaps just behind a veil or just barely out of sight. Talking about him/her keeps that mysterious presence – present.

Compulsive gambling can be a difficult thing to eliminate from your life. It’s as if the casino is a magnet and all the change in your pocket is pulling you there. It may seem that no matter what you do, you can’t seem to break that magnetic attraction. Well, there are many things you can do to reduce and eliminate this attraction and need for compulsive gambling. Following is a list of the things that you may find helpful:
1. Positive affirmations – Incorporate these into your daily life in order to develop and maintain a positive attitude.
2. Journal Writing – Notice what you were thinking and how you were feeling when you felt like gambling. Write about it in your journal as a way of determining triggers.

February 16th, 2010 — Affirmation
Many of us grow up with a set of beliefs about ourselves which has been programmed since early childhood. Our parents, teachers and other influential adults can inadvertently create a diminished self image and install a number of limiting beliefs. This is compounded by the number of times we think, or talk to ourselves, everyday in negative terms. The use of daily affirmations is a powerful technique to change that negative self-talk into something more positive.
Leading thinkers and researchers on the use of affirmations include Jack Canfield and John Assaraf. Research on the effectiveness of positive affirmations as a life enhancing tool has led to the formation of the following eight step system for setting positive affirmations.
1. Affirmations should start with the words I AM. These are two of the most powerful words in the English language as they send a command to the subconscious part of our minds.
2. Positive – our minds like to work in pictures, therefore we cannot not think about something. So trying not to think of a pink elephant will undoubtedly bring up an image of a pink elephant. An affirmation such as I am enjoying breathing clean air will be more effective than I am no longer a smoker.
