This is known as self affirmation and not only is it normal it is a very powerful process. It can work for you or against you, depending on how you use it. In this article we will examine the benefits of daily positive affirmations.</p>
<p>In order for your daily positive affirmations to be effective you must inject true emotions into them. Merely mindlessly repeating a phrase to your-self over and over does you no good if you don&#8217;t feel it. Try using words of emotion like &quot; happily,joyously,confidently,unstoppable,bold,relaxed,calm,etc. These will help you generate real emotion.</p>

<p>You must be persistent when using positive affirmations. Saying an occasional affirmation to your-self is as effective as doing a few push-ups occasional. You won&#8217;t see any appreciable results until you make them a daily part of you routine just like brushing your teeth or combing your hair. Try them for at least thirty days in a row with-out missing any days. You should begin to notice a definite shift in your thoughts and behaviors.</p>
<p>Choose a certain time a day to do your positive affirmations. For example,8.00 am each morning for five minutes. By selecting a specific time to do your affirmations you are making time to do them instead of try to find the time.</p>
<p>The great thing about doing affirmations is that after only a short period of time they will become an automatic part of your daily thinking and behavior. You wont have to use conscious effort. That&#8217;s when you will reap the full benefits of using daily positive affirmations.</p>
<p>First, before actually get to the benefits of daily positive affirmations, let&#8217;s get a clear definition of exactly what an affirmation is. An affirmation is an assertion of support or agreement. It is a declaration of the truth. Basically, an affirmation is something we consciously choose to believe or agree with.</p>
<p>The late, great Jim Rohn said &quot;Affirmations are great, as long as you affirm the truth.&quot; But,exactly what is the truth? The truth for you is what-ever you decide it to be. It is a fact that we become that which we think about most. This is where daily positive affirmations can really help us to shape our reality to our liking.</p>
<p>For positive affirmations to be effective they must be used regularly. This is why daily repetition of a desired goal is so important. We are creatures of habit. It is through repetition of certain actions or behaviors that our habits are formed and it is by daily repetition that new actions or behaviors can be formed.</p>
<p>First you must decide on a specific goal or outcome you wish to achieve. Do you want to loose weight, stop procrastination or control your temper? Whatever it is that you want to do, you must state it in the positive. You must focus on what you want not on what you don&#8217;t want. Keep your affirmation in the present tense. Futurist statements focus on what will happen someday. Some days never come.</p>

Our parents, teachers and other influential adults can inadvertently create a diminished self image and install a number of limiting beliefs. This is compounded by the number of times we think, or talk to ourselves, everyday in negative terms. The use of daily affirmations is a powerful technique to change that negative self-talk into something more positive.</p>
<p>Leading thinkers and researchers on the use of affirmations include Jack Canfield and John Assaraf. Research on the effectiveness of positive affirmations as a life enhancing tool has led to the formation of the following eight step system for setting positive affirmations.</p>
<p>1. Affirmations should start with the words I AM. These are two of the most powerful words in the English language as they send a command to the subconscious part of our minds.</p>
<p>2. Positive &#8211; our minds like to work in pictures, therefore we cannot not think about something. So trying not to think of a pink elephant will undoubtedly bring up an image of a pink elephant. An affirmation such as I am enjoying breathing clean air will be more effective than I am no longer a smoker.</p>

<p>3. State in the present tense. This sets up an imbalance in the subconscious which it will then seek to correct. For example if you want to gain a particular position at work, state I am the regional sales manager, rather than I want to be or I will be.</p>
<p>4. Specific &#8211; Our subconscious minds require clear specific instructions which allow them to accurately pursue what we have programmed in the form of positive affirmations. So &quot;I am rich&quot; is not specific enough, better to say &quot;I am earning $100,000 per year&quot;. You may also like to add the phrase this or something better, because if you are too limiting in your desires, such as &quot;I want to marry Susan&quot;, she might be interested, available or the best match for you.</p>
<p>5. Contain an active verb &#8211; without getting into high school grammar mode, an active verb is a do-ing word such as living, having, achieving, earning and so on.</p>
<p>6. Contain a feeling &#8211; this magnifies the power of your affirmations by adding the fuel of emotion. Consider including feelings such as joyful, excited, thankful or freedom</p>
<p>7. Keep it brief- to be most effective, your affirmation should be easily remembered and repeated often. By keeping it brief you are far more likely to remember it. As a fun exercise you could consider trying to make it rhyme. In this way, similar to advertising jingles, your affirmation will stick in your head.</p>
<p>8. Make it personal &#8211; your affirmations should be about you. You will not be successful in trying to change another person, neither are you likely to be fully engaged with words that someone else has suggested for you.</p>
<p>A suggested format might look something like this:</p>
<p>&quot;I am so thankful for the freedom that being a millionaire brings me&quot; or &quot;I am so proud to be accepting my diploma in front of my family and friends&quot;</p>
<p>The final thing to remember about positive affirmations is that they must be repeated frequently to reprogram your subconscious into accepting they are true. Some teachers suggest 100 times a day, others recommend putting your affirmations on your bedside table and reciting first thing in the morning and last things at night.</p>
<p>Like many things we don&#8217;t fully understand, it would be easy to dismiss the power of affirmations, but enough respected and highly successful people use them that, this writer, for one, will be stepping up his affirmations game.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We can use <strong>affirmations</strong> to change, improve and reprogram our subconscious minds to work wonders and bring about wonderful changes in our lives. The main point about working with affirmations is that you want the wording to work for you. Feelings and emotions behind a thought is what helps the speed at which the desire manifests. Therefore, it is important that your affirmation sparks those good vibrations, feelings and emotions to get the manifesting ball rolling. For example, some people like lengthy ones and others like short and sweet. Some like it to rhyme and some like to sing it. Whatever works for you is best. But as you are saying your affirmation you will notice how well they are working by what your dreams reflect you.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s use our desire for money as an example; You are needing some money or wanting to add more prosperity to your life so you start using an affirmation: People Love To Give Me Money. And you are saying this all day and night to yourself and having a great feeling and thinking Wow! this is great and then that night you dream a dream that is dark and dreary, not prosperous at all. The dream points out to you that you have a block to receiving money or that you don&#8217;t believe that people would randomly give you money. Voila! the block is revealed. Thank yourself for pointing out this subconscious belief. This block can be changed but until you dreamt it you were unaware of this subconscious belief or disbelief and an affirmation will work for you once you change that belief. In fact, any of us who are not in the flow of money and prosperity have some kind of basic subconscious block to riches and prosperity.</p>

<p>How do you change the blocks? In a word, visualization. I suggest that you take your &#8216;block&#8217; and I will continue here with prosperity. Get into a meditative state, or just quiet the mind. Now repeat your affirmation and see, feel and hear the affirmation &#8211; use all your senses in a scene that you could conceive and believe happening. If you cannot conceive the idea and believe it with all your heart then you must use an affirmation that works for you. Maybe one more general in feeling, for example; More and more each day I am open and receptive to receiving prosperity.</p>
<p>Once you find the affirmation that clicks with you and as you change your belief (block) in your subconscious mind your night time dreams may show you how you are progressing or your dreams can also show you when you need to change your goals or when outdated beliefs are blocking your way of real spiritual truths.</p>
<p>Positive money beliefs in dreams can be represented by having gold, silver, money, jewelry, being surrounded by luxury in your dream backgrounds.</p>

<p>Are you a winner or a loser? If you believe that you are defeated, then you are. If you think you are successful, then you are. Now, that&#8217;s not saying that you are successful in everything that you do, but you are successful at something, probably lots of things. The point is your attitude is key to your ability to see yourself as you really are.</p>
<p>I believe we are all winners. Each day that we awake and embrace another day, we are winning the race, we are showing the world that we are champions. We will not let the obstacles in life be our focus. We will use our energy to concentrate on our hopes, dreams and goals.</p>
<p>Start your day in a powerful way by beginning with positive affirmations. Remind yourself of all that you have to be thankful for. Declare aloud your plan for success. Write them down and read them back to yourself. Take time for some peaceful meditation, allowing your appreciation for life to fill your spirit with love and gratitude.</p>

<p>Take deep breaths, stretch your arms above your head and lower them back to your sides, slowly and deliberately. Avoid straining, and make sure to relax your face, neck and shoulders. Allow the stress to escape as your mind, body and spirit are filled with positive energy for a healthy balance both physically and mentally.</p>
<p>Dismiss negative thoughts and don&#8217;t allow them to rule your actions. Make your self-talk an affirmation of love and appreciation. I guarantee you that if you start each day this way, you will begin to fell less stress and have a better self-image, than punishing yourself with negative words and feelings.</p>
<p>I am losing weight.    <br />I am eating healthy foods that nourish my body.     <br />I look fantastic.     <br />I am confident that I will succeed.     <br />I love the way exercise makes me feel.     <br />I look sexy because I exercise.     <br />I feel great today.     <br />I accept challenges but I don&#8217;t let them change my course.</p>
