<p>If you think of the &quot;peak&quot; as a mountain, you begin in the valley and then you begin to scale the side of the mountain until you reach the top&#8230; the peak of the mountain. when you arrive at the peak&#8230; the celebration begins!</p>
<p>If you were to take a mountain climbing course, you would learn how to safely scale the mountain using a number of skills and tools needed for the climb. Depending on the mountain, will determine the amount of training and practice you will need. Scaling the hill in your backyard is different than heading to the peak of Mt. Everest.</p>

<p>C.L.I.M.B.</p>
<p>To arrive at your desired peak, you must begin climbing and continue to climb until you reach the peak.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how to use C.L.I.M.B to reach your peak:</p>
<p>C &#8211; You must be willing to CLIMB. C is for Climb.</p>
<p>L &#8211; Live in the Moment. You must live in the moment or you could slip and fall off the mountain.</p>
<p>I &#8211; Inspirational&#8230; you must inspire yourself and others. Climbing is a team effort.</p>
<p>M &#8211; Motivated. You must want to reach the peak and be motivated with passion.</p>
<p>B &#8211; Belief. You must believe that you can actually reach the peak.</p>
<p><strong>Climb</strong></p>
<p>To reach the top, you must be willing to begin climbing. Duh! You demonstrate your willingness when you open and continue to practice chiropractic in your marketplace. During your climb you can get bogged down by a number of elements. You may need to halt the climb and you make up for it when storm clears.</p>
<p><strong>Live</strong></p>
<p>You must learn to live in the moment. You can climb a mountain when you look down or in the past. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not arrived. You must live today. In the moment. Ask &quot;What&#8217;s Important Now?&quot; When you get in the moment and guide your decisions with W.I.N., you will reach the peak faster and safer.</p>
<p><strong>Inspire</strong></p>
<p>As the leader of your practice, you must be inspired to reach the peak and more importantly, you must inspire your climbing team to embrace your desired outcome. If your team is uninspired, you will be left dangling by a rope when you lose your footing.</p>
<p><strong>Motivation</strong></p>
<p>Without motivation, the desire, the passion, you cannot reach your peak. What motivates you? You need to build this into your climb. You need benchmarks along the way to inspire your motivation. You need to reward yourself and your tou. Passion and stamina are twins. When you have passion, it fuels your motivation to overcome all the obstacles that you encounter along the climb to the peak. Your motivation could be a physical or spiritual or a combination. But it must be motivational and have clarity. The clearer your motivation, the easier to stay focused on the climb.</p>
<p><strong>Believe</strong></p>
<p>Don&#8217;t even begin the climb unless you truly, honestly, with certainty, believe that you can reach the peak. Regardless of the amount of training,, coaching or tools you have, if you don&#8217;t believe in yourself, you will falter and potentially experience a devastating fall&#8230; losing everything.</p>
<p>You must look in the mirror and go deep into who you are. You must know what your purpose is professionally and personally and then begin your climb based on what you believe possible.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s not limit on how you can climb, but, you must believe you can complete the climb to the peak.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>John looks out the window mournfully. Outside, he sees his neighbor giving his wife a loving peck on the forehead while she tends to the garden. Their kids are kicking around boisterously, screaming for daddy to come join in the game. And daddy does as with all perfect little daddies do.</p>
<p>John can feel the slow-boiling emotion of envy, jealousy and the creeping frustration about life being unfair to him and being so kind to his neighbor and his family members. They have everything they ever want out of life and he has nothing. He got to a point whereby he is fed-up about not being able to find a perfect life like the one that his neighbor has. Life gave him a terrible hand.</p>

<p>John does not realize that he is probably never going to find the perfect life. Not because he can&#8217;t achieve it with that state of mind, but because there is no perfect life.</p>
<p>What John sees of the family is just the outside picture. He created the reality in his mind, that his neighbor&#8217;s life is perfect and his is not. Whereas, in the real reality, his neighbor is facing potential bankruptcy and they might have to move to a flat soon. His wife can&#8217;t seem to find a job because she&#8217;s been a housewife ever since their firstborn was born. The neighbor&#8217;s firstborn also has a problem about not facing up to bullies in school.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s the real reality &#8211; that everyone has problems. But what John chooses to see is this one-sided reality that makes his neighbor&#8217;s life the perfect life, and his the complete opposite.</p>
<p>John does not see that his mother is worried sick about him and is about to board a flight out to see him and take care of him. He does not see that his boss at work is doing all that he can to help John keep his job. He does not see the abundance of love that he is getting from HIS own kids and his ex-wife. He wallows because his focus is in not having what his neighbor has. His neighbor&#8217;s perfect little life.</p>
<p>He is in search of something that is not real, hence, he can never find the perfect life. Not when he is not acknowledging his own perfect life. The one that he is now entitled to live but chose to ignore.</p>
<p>Choose to see the good in everything that you have right in front of you today.</p>

It is the understanding of failure as a driving force and what it stands for. I like to think it stands for False Evidence Appearing Real and the secret to overcoming it is to keep this in mind.</p>
<p>There is no success story that is without a fear of failure and in fact failing is a part of the end result. The most example of this is Thomas Edison, probably the greatest inventor of all. When he invented the light bulb, he failed 9,999 times before success was achieved at the 10,000th time. He was called crazy and urged to give up before he killed himself. Each time he failed, he stated he was one step closer to achieving success. What tenacity and persistence!</p>

<p>Anyone who wants to achieve anything in life must accept that failing is a big part of any success. The person who thinks that they are never going to experience some kind of failure is only deluding themselves. The only way to let go of the fear of failure is to accept that failing is a part of all things that constitute our personal growth and development.</p>
<p>Look at the soccer player who is at the height of his career and the top scorer. How many times do you think he misses the goal? I assure you it is more times than he finds the net. What about the movie star who had to go through hundreds of auditions to just get a part as an extra. I am sure all of us at sometime have gone for numerous job interviews without success.</p>
<p>We can let the fear of failure dominate our lives and then failure will be assured or be like the soccer player or movie star. All it takes is a desire and determination that failure will not be a part of our lives, but accepting that failing is going to happen if we want to achieve ultimate success. Once we understand this concept, then all fear of failure will start to fade away into the distance.</p>
<p>Look at your life as a work in progress, you are going to trip up from time to time and as long as you get up, dust yourself down and keep on moving forward in whatever you feel is a positive direction, then this attitude will bring its rewards. Don&#8217;t be put off with any setbacks, it is a part of everyday life and fail your way to success.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Think of your life like a huge mansion. The west wing represents your childhood; the east wing, your adolescence. There is a wing that represents your young adulthood, and one that holds the memories of your more recent adulthood.</p>
<p>There is probably a section of this home that reflects back on your pre married days as well as each child as they came into your life. And of course there is the area that represents the courtship with your honey, as well as the most recent years leading up to now. I&#8217;m sure you get the picture by now.</p>
<p>I bet if asked which rooms you spend the most time in they would be the rooms that are bright, have lots of windows, beautiful pictures and comfy furniture. These rooms represent the times in your life that you enjoy re-visiting. The memories that make you smile, laugh and look back on with fond recollection.</p>

<p>Now consider the rooms you have forgotten about. The rooms that at some point during your life you closed the door, locked it, and perhaps even boarded it up. These are the times in your life that have caused you pain, discomfort, disappointment and distress. The times you decided you never wanted to think about again and would just as soon erase them all together.</p>
<p>Unfortunately it doesn&#8217;t work that way!</p>
<p>Some of us have entire wings with rooms like these. For some, the basement has been the designated space for these forgotten moments in time. If you were to re-visit these rooms they would probably be covered with cobwebs, inches of dust, broken windows and they would be very, very dark.</p>
<p>It is these rooms however, that often call to us while we are stepping into our lives in a BIG way. When we make the decision to take back control and begin to live a more purpose driven life, we are lured back to these places because we have come to the time in our lives where we need to heal whatever happened to cause us to lock that door in the first place.</p>
<p>So often when a new client starts with me, she is taken back by all the gremlins and demons that come out of the woodwork as a result of her commitment to step it up in her business and her life.</p>
<p>It is this willingness to PLAY BIG that actually gives these old gremlins permission to show themselves. As you declare you readiness to Stretch Beyond Your Comfort Zone, your &quot;old stuff&quot; says &quot;OK Darlin&#8217;, let&#8217;s see how uncomfortable you are willing to get!&quot;</p>

<p>As you Stretch Beyond Your Comfort Zone and you become more aware of the rooms that are calling to you, that you haven&#8217;t visited in a while, get curious. For starters, just take a look at the sign on the door.</p>
<p>For example, if you&#8217;ve been avoiding public speaking and you know it has something to do with a bad experience on stage back in high school, consider slowing down long enough to envision that part of &quot;your house&quot; and as you enter it, approach the room where the memory from high school is, and look at the sign on the door. What does is read?</p>
<p>How do you FEEL as you look at the door? Are you nervous? Anxious? Scared? Envision yourself unlocking and opening the door&#8230; What does the room look like inside? What is the temperature? Is it dark or bright? Are there other people in this room?</p>
<p>Give yourself the opportunity to see this room (this experience from your past) as you are NOW. As the woman you have become.</p>
<p>What&#8217;s do you know now that you didn&#8217;t know then? What&#8217;s different for you now? As you look back on that experience, what did you learn from it that can add value to your current experience?</p>
<p>Visiting these rooms in our lives is a necessary part of the process as we grow and develop our relationship with ourselves AND it gives us the opportunity to heal old wounds. It is in the healing of these old wounds that allows us to continue moving forwarding and play FULL OUT.</p>
<p>Imagine walking out of each room with confidence and satisfaction that you are stronger and wiser for having had that experience.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>All the greatest human achievements began in someone&#8217;s head. The truth is &#8211; it&#8217;s possible to make your own deep desires and dreams come true for yourself. I&#8217;ve broken the process down here into the four Ds: Desire, Dream, Design, Do.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s very important that all steps are followed. Without desire, you may end up receiving something you didn&#8217;t really want. Without a dream, your plan will be ill-informed and ineffectual. Without a design, the action you take will be based purely on your intuition in the moment and that&#8217;s if you ever get started in the first place.</p>
<p>And without doing, well, you&#8217;d be living in a dream world&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>Desire</strong></p>
<p>Getting what you want begins with locating what it is that you really desire. The interesting thing about this process is that you have to locate the thing which makes you feel explosively enthusiastic and pleasurable about. In some ways you can&#8217;t actually choose what that thing is, because some deeper part of you has already chosen.</p>
<p>This process is fairly simple but requires a little self-discipline, awareness, and focus.</p>

<p>Begin by writing on a piece of paper, &quot;what do I passionately and deeply desire?&quot;</p>
<p>Answer your own question as many times as you feel, and then examine in greater detail each of the answers you have written down.</p>
<p>At this stage you should not try to make this any more than it is, but try to make it as detailed as you feel you can.</p>
<p>All you are trying to find out is what you really feel great about &#8211; it could be something as simple as moving to another country, playing a musical instrument, or owning your own business.</p>
<p><strong>Dream</strong></p>
<p>Once you have a list of things which you really desire, now order the list in terms of how strongly you feel about them.</p>
<p>Take the top three from that list and in turn think about them happening in your life. It may be something which can happen next week, next month, next year, or in several years.</p>
<p>Create an image in your mind of yourself at that time doing those things. You will know when you&#8217;ve got this process right because you will get a similar feeling to that feeling of desire which you had in the first process &#8211; but now the feeling will be linked to a dream you have about yourself.</p>
<p>You should now think about these three things as your goals. These are things you are actually going to achieve.</p>
<p><strong>Design</strong></p>
<p>Now it&#8217;s time to get realistic. What things need to change in your life to make your goals happen? What action do you need to take? What thinks may need to change about yourself?</p>
<p>How does it feel being yourself in those dreams as compared to how you feel now? What is the difference? Could you think of yourself as being the person achieving those goals? Is that who you really are?</p>
<p>Write a list of things which need to be done or need to happen in order for you to achieve these goals. If one of your goals is moving to Spain, for example, then you will have things in the list like:</p>
<p>* Find a method of income to support myself in Spain    <br />* Learn basic Spanish     <br />* Buy a plane ticket     <br />* Find somewhere to live in Spain</p>
<p><strong>Do</strong></p>
<p>As powerful as the mind is, now it&#8217;s time to take action. This step is just as important, if not more, than the rest.</p>
<p>Can you actually do one of the things on each of your lists this week? In that case &#8211; do them. Make a commitment and get started on achieving the things you really deeply desire.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There has been much written on and spoken about when it comes to Manifesting your wants and desires. In fact, David and I did a few shows on that very topic. The one thing that I have found to be true and most important for Manifestation is:</p>
<p>Thoughts have Power!!</p>
<p>We all know or should know by now how the brain works. Electrical impulses send information to all areas of our bodies. Thoughts and images are all forms of electrical impulses. Here is where the connection gets lost for some people. Everything around us is a form of energy. Thoughts are a form of energy, the things that make up every aspect of our daily lives are forms of energy.</p>
<p>In the Law of Attraction Like draws Like. What does that mean? If we put it into to terms of our thoughts it means this, What you focus your thoughts on is what you draw into your life. I know we have all heard that thousands of times but what does that really mean? It&#8217;s quite simple, if say you are looking to become an actor, but you have thoughts let&#8217;s say right before an audition like, &quot;I don&#8217;t think I have what they need&quot; or &quot;I just know there Will be someone there who is better than me&quot;, chances are that is exactly what will happen. You called it into being, you made it real. Some would say that is the &quot;Law of Self-fulfillment&quot; and in a way yes it is. I would like you to think for a minute that it is the energy you focused on and in doing so brought into existence making your thoughts reality.</p>

<p>If energy draws the same type of energy to it&#8217;s self then your thoughts, conscious or sub-conscious are energy and where that energy is directed will be the result you receive. In the case of your health for instance, if your thoughts are always leaning toward the fear of getting sick, chances are you will be sick more often than someone who is not consumed by those thoughts.</p>
<p>If we take all that information and then funnel it into what we really want, how does that work? Think of what you want, what you really want not what you think will be of importance to everyone else or in other words, meet the approval of everyone else. Your real, true desire for yourself. It is not enough to simply think about what you want you must have a real picture of how getting what you want will impact your life, the lives of those around you. You essentially want to create a complete picture of what your Dream, Desire or want is. How it will feel, smell, sound, taste, how your thoughts will be when you have what it is that you want.</p>
<p>There are many ways to achieve this, we spoke of it during one of our shows, but I can&#8217;t stress this enough&#8230;You have to know exactly what it is that you want in order for you to get it. Your world, experiences, people will begin to enter the exact path that will lead you to what it is you want. Let me give you an example:</p>
<p>You want more money but right now in this moment you have a ton of bills..where do you think your thoughts&#8230;your energy is being directed? What you focus on is what you will get. We do live in a true energy environment which means energy draws to it the energy that matches it. If your thoughts are on how many bills you have you will find more bills and your attention will be drawn to those bills, like a circle. However, if your thoughts are on increasing your money and not on the bills&#8230;.if you direct your thoughts to seeing money coming in building up not going out&#8230;.opportunities for creating that money will begin to come into your world. People will begin to respond to your energy&#8230;opportunities will begin to show and money will begin to increase.</p>
<p>Now as far as how that money increases, that does not have to be known&#8230;.the only focus should be on the FACT that your money will increase. I don&#8217;t want you to think that you can simply think into existence all that you want. That is just the beginning you must also take steps that will lead you in the direction of what you want. When your thoughts are focused on what you want, when you begin to move into that direction, it begins a chain reaction of energy flow. The more focused you become on your Dream, the more opportunities begin to avail themselves to you. Keeping your focus on your Dream is a perpetual motion type of thought. You must work at it just as you worked at focusing your attention on the negative until it became habitual, so should you focus on your dream till those thoughts become habitual. Your thoughts should be focused on finding opportunities to fulfill your dream not on the disappointments of the unfulfilled dreams.</p>
<p>Remember to also be flexible in the pursuit of your dreams&#8230;the way you think they will come into existence isn&#8217;t always the way it happens. In Drawing your Dreams, Your Desires keep your thoughts open to all possibilities for them to come to you, be flexible. Pay attention to people, places and events because when you are open to the true Desire, that energy will draw it&#8217;s self to you through the people you come in contact with, the advertisements that catch your eye, subtle things will begin to happen and draw you to your Desire when you begin to take action toward what you want. When thinking of what you want use terms such as: I have, I am, I do&#8211; not I will, I want, I need. What we say, think and feel are all forms of energy that draw exactly what we put out. When fleeting thoughts of negativity creep in pay attention and correct them right away. It is as much a constant process is as worrying about things not going right was in the past.</p>

		<title>You MUST Read This Article!</title>

<p>I&#8217;m smiling as I write this because I&#8217;m wondering: How did reading the title make you feel?</p>
<p>I imagine some of you feel tight and not-a-little resistant inside; some of you will have reacted so strongly that you&#8217;re not reading this at-all (!); and others will feel motivated and curious to find out &#8211; what&#8217;s so important?</p>
<p>Keep reading: you&#8217;ll find out.</p>
<p>But first, let me ask you a question: How&#8217;s your relationship to the following words and phrases?</p>
<p>• Have to    <br />• Must     <br />• Should     <br />• Need to     <br />• Got to</p>
<p>These are words we often hear as children and teenagers. &quot;You&#8217;ve got to shape up your life, son.&quot; &quot;A young girl needs to conduct herself differently, young missy.&quot;</p>
<p>And &#8216;Yes&#8217;, you read correctly. I asked about your relationship to these words/concepts&#8230;because we can develop a bad relationship to ideas in our mind and bodies&#8230;really.</p>
<p>Does anyone remember Michael J. Fox playing Marty McFly in the Back to the Future films? Whenever someone called him &#8216;chicken!&#8217; he&#8217;d get really mad and dive headfirst into situations where he ended up in even more trouble!</p>

<p>I know this won&#8217;t apply to everyone but by way of example:</p>
<p>Men, how do you feel about &#8216;life-long commitment&#8217;?</p>
<p>Women, how do you feel about &#8216;obeying your husbands&#8217;?</p>
<p>Your (possibly strong) feelings about these words are known, in the field of Neurosemantics, as &#8216;semantic reactions&#8217; &#8211; our mental-emotional-physical responses to the meanings of words. And the class of words above, known in linguistics as &#8216;modal operators of necessity&#8217; tend to make many peoples&#8217; hackles rise.</p>
<p>Why?</p>
<p>Because we value our individual freedom so much we can&#8217;t STAND the idea of being told what to do. For some people the problem is so acute that they can&#8217;t even tell themselves what to do!</p>
<p>I once worked briefly with a guy who would literally do the opposite of what you told him. So I said to him: &quot;Dave, you really don&#8217;t want to go back into that training room ad pay attention because I wouldn&#8217;t want you to be successful, and make lots of money from what you learn.&quot; You should have seen the look on his face. Because in his mind he &#8216;had&#8217; to do the opposite!</p>
<p>So what&#8217;s all this about? Well, I trained in NLP and using a questioning model called the Meta-Model we are taught to respond to statements like:</p>
<p>&#8216;You need to be obedient at all times&#8217; or &#8216;You must listen to me.&#8217;</p>
<p>With challenges like: &#8216;Need to? What would happen if I didn&#8217;t?&#8217;</p>
<p>(Unfortunately, there&#8217;s a bit of an art to responding like that without sounding like a total jerk and it doesn&#8217;t translate well to paper!)</p>
<p>The point the trainers were trying to make is that people imprison themselves in walls of linguistic obligation from which they never think of climbing out. We probably all know someone who rushes around exclaiming that they &#8216;have&#8217; to do this or that. And they need a good challenge: &quot;Who says you HAVE TO?&quot;</p>
<p>However, and it is a big however, they rarely taught us that, whilst it is good to challenge limiting obligations, there ARE certain things we NEED to do. And we NEED to be able to get ourselves to do them without freaking out like a 14-year-old told he/she can&#8217;t go the dodgy party (yes, I am a parent!)</p>
<p>• If I want to get fit, I HAVE to exercise and eat more healthily.</p>
<p>• If I want to master my craft as a Neurosemantics Coach and Trainer, I HAVE to practice, check feedback, and adjust. And study.</p>
<p>• If I want to go on holiday, I HAVE to discipline myself to save money for it.</p>
<p>The point is that if I have a strong adverse reaction to &#8216;need&#8217; or &#8216;have to&#8217; I may not get to stick with the things that will benefit me and my family. I will be my own worst enemy.</p>
<p>If we cannot work with &#8216;have to&#8217; then we cannot develop self-discipline (another dirty word for some people).</p>

<p>So what can we do to reclaim ownership over our &#8216;musts&#8217;?</p>
<p>One thing we can do change our reactions to the words by changing the way we feel about them.</p>
<p><b>Exercise</b></p>
<p>Go somewhere quiet, and breathe slowly, deeply, and steadily and put yourself in a relaxed state.</p>
<p>I suggest getting someone else to read the below:</p>
<p>&#8216;Bring yourself mentally to the words you have trouble with and STAY WITH THEM whilst breathing in acceptance, and breathing out uncomfortable feelings.</p>
<p>As you do, notice how this calm state of acknowledgment and acceptance transforms this in ways that feel better, and are better,&#8230; now.&quot;</p>
<p>Do this several times. And once more with feeling.</p>
<p>Then, think about the words that come to mind when you think about &#8216;must&#8217;, &#8216;have to&#8217;, &#8216;no choice&#8217;. Write them down.</p>
<p>Do your definitions of these words serve you well? Do they work as tools FOR you? (as words &#8216;SHOULD do&#8217; (grin)).</p>
<p>If not, how could you define them so that they did? Just for fun, brainstorm the ways in which &#8216;having&#8217; to do something has worked out well for you in the past. How have you felt when you &#8216;had&#8217; to do something you love?</p>
<p>&#8216;Well, one time I had to do x and actually I really enjoyed it.&#8217; (clear a stream, help move house, cook a big dinner etc).</p>
<p>List as many ideas as you can on this subject. Notice how reading back these examples can really change the way you felt about have to, hasn&#8217;t it?</p>
<p>As you feel, this, think about &#8216;have to&#8217; with the feelings that come from your examples. And notice how this changes that.</p>
<p>This is not the only way to deal with &#8216;wayward words&#8217; but reducing the emotional cloud that surrounds them is a good starting point.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The way we approach our life is the same as how we view a glass of water. When someone sees a glass as being half empty, their outlook is a pessimistic one. The contrary to that is someone who optimistically sees the glass as half full.</p>
<p>We can either choose to have an optimistic outlook or a pessimistic one. Unfortunately, a lot of people are not aware that they habitually think of what&#8217;s wrong before thinking about what&#8217;s right.</p>
<p><span id="more-111"></span>Good Versus Bad.<br />
In our fast &#8211; paced, adrenaline &#8211; fuelled world, unexpected curve balls are throw our way every day, and along with them come new challenges and emotions. The manner in which we deal with them reveals whether we are optimistic or pessimistic by nature.<br />
People who are pessimistic view bad things as permanent and affecting all areas of their lives. They view good things as happening by chance and believe that it&#8217;s unlikely to happen again. For such people, pessimism is usually a guard against the disappointment of unfulfilled dreams, or it represents a fear of what the future holds for them. Thus, pessimists tend to become depressed and have a tendency to drown their sorrows in habits which may be detrimental to their health and well &#8211; being.<br />
On the other hand, optimists will choose to look at the silver lining in every cloud. When bad things happen, they will think of it as a temporary setback. They may even approach it pragmatically &#8211; viewing a setback as a difficult event which has to happen in order for them to achieve a positive result in the future. They see difficulties as temporary and not lasting forever. As a result, optimists laugh more, have a better sense of humour, and lead more healthy and balanced lives.<br />
So how do we become more optimistic? One way is to be aware of how we describe bad things that happen to us. We all have the power to change how we think and feel about everything. When we challenge ourselves to reframe our existing perspectives and adopt more positive ones, this will immediately alter our internal state of being.</p>
<p>Practise Positioning.<br />
Try this exercise to become more positive in your outlook: Think about a time when you were positive and optimistic. What was it like? Immerse yourself in the memory of how you felt, looked, behaved and thought when you were feeling positive. Visualise and relief that experience as strongly as you can using all of your senses.<br />
When you have done that, come back to the present and pick an &#8220;anchor&#8221; that you can associate with this positive state of mind. An anchor is something you use as a reminder; it could be as simple as tugging your ear lobe, or a gesture that you can make to immediately call to mind that positive state of being when you&#8217;re feeling negative.</p>
<p>&#8220;We have the power to change how we think and feel. When we challenge ourselves to reframe our existing perspectives to more positive ones, this will immediately alter our internal state of being.&#8221;</p>
<p>Once you have chosen your anchor; go back to the positive experience and engage in living the memory again by visualising how you felt during that time. At the peak of the experience, activate your anchor by tugging on your ear lobe, for example. This will help you form a connection between the feeling of positivity and activating your anchor.</p>
<p>Do this exercise at least three times. Every time you do this, you are training your thought processes to consciously remember this positive feeling. With consistent practice, it will become unconscious because you would have made it a habit, and you will experience a different state of being from when you started out.</p>
<p>The Payback:<br />
Choosing to think positively immediately brings about a change to the conditions around you. It is a choice that you have made. When you frown at the world, all you will see are the frowns you get back. In the same way, when you smile at the world, the world will smile back at you.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">It is identified as the ultimate key to happiness, the door to success, the path to healthy relationships, the essential component of personal fulfillment, and the ingredient for eliminating toxic ones. What is this very important &#8220;it&#8221;? &#8220;It&#8221; is self &#8211; esteem.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the National Council for Self &#8211; esteem in Sacramento, California, self &#8211; esteem is &#8220;the feeling that you are worthy of happiness and capable of managing life&#8217;s challenges.&#8221; For many, self &#8211; esteem is an elusive ingredient. Yet psychologists universally agree that it can be cultivated by anyone.<span id="more-73"></span>Here are eight steps to greater self &#8211; esteem :</p>
<p><strong>1. Take A Personal Inventory</strong><br />
When Philadelphia psychiatrist and author, Donald L Nathanson counsels patients struggling with low self &#8211; esteem, he urges them to make an exhaustive list of their positives, large and small. Are you a hard worker? Are you a loyal friend? Can you operate a VCR?<br />
Nathanson advises patients to consult the list as soon as something goes wrong &#8211; a missed promotion, a lost love, or any other emotional setback. &#8220;That way you can isolate the event,&#8221; he explains. &#8220;You can see it as a specific experience, not something that defines your whole life.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>2. Think Optimistically</strong><br />
Optimistic thinking is a sure &#8211; fire way of creating an upward cycle, moving from one success to another. Consider 14 &#8211; year &#8211; old swimmer, Shane Gould. When a reporter at a swim meet in the United States asked her how she thought she would do, Shane replied: &#8220;I have a feeling there will be a world record set today.&#8221;<br />
She went on to set two world records in the 100 m and 200 m freestyle events. Later Gould was asked how she thought she would fare in the more gruelling 400 m event. Smiling, Shane replied: &#8220;I get stronger with every race, and besides, my parents promised that they&#8217;d take me to Disneyland if I win, and we&#8217;re leaving tomorrow!&#8221; She left for Disneyland with three world records.</p>
<p><strong>3. Meet A Challenge And Conquer It</strong><br />
In 1970, former Olympic skier, Jimmie Heugahe was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). At the time, the standard medical wisdom was that MS patients should live non &#8211; physical lives. Huega reluctantly accepted the prescription of a quite life. But after four inactive years, he felt worse. Fearing further physical and mental deterioration, Huega devised his own treatment plan, &#8220;one in which I, not the disease, took charge,&#8221; he says. Huega began cycling and swimming. Within a few months he felt healthier than he had been in four years. Subsequent studies confirmed what Huega experienced: Rather than speeding up deterioration, exercise can strengthen and energise MS patients, physically and emotionally.</p>
<p><strong>4. Set Higher Goals</strong><br />
Give yourself the benefit of any doubt by telling yourself you can achieve more. &#8220;Strive to a higher position in life,&#8221; says minister Robert H. Schuller in his book Self &#8211; love. &#8220;Why not? You&#8217;ll prove that you&#8217;ve got more on the ball than you thought&#8230; Thought honest hard work and sincere dedication, you can rise higher on the social or economic scale than you are now.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>5. Learn Something New</strong><br />
The least fulfilled people are those who are not growing. Learning something new builds confidence because it forces you to push the boundaries, expanding the mind and spirit. &#8220;It&#8217;s a mistake to think that once you&#8217;re done with school you need never learn anything new,&#8221; declares actress Sophia Loren.<br />
&#8220;So if you find that you need glasses, get a little pain in your knee, notice a few brown spots on your hands, don&#8217;t despair. There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>6. Exercise regularly</strong><br />
Consistent moderate exercise not only controls weight, it strengthens the heart, lowers cholesterol, reduces stress and improves circulation. It also lifts the spirit considerably. Select a physical activity that you enjoy such as walking, jogging, cycling or swimming. Then do it faithfully at least three times a week.</p>
<p><strong>7. Demonstrate Goodwill</strong><br />
Work to make the world around you a kinder place. You will feel good while improving the quality of life of others. &#8220;These days, we tend to forget acts of kindness toward others,&#8221; observes Bruce A Baldwin, a psychologist from North Carolina. &#8220;Offer your seat on a bus to an elderly person, or wave another car though when you have the right of way. You&#8217;ll feel an inner glow knowing that your small act has made a difference.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>8. Act Happy</strong><br />
The saying, &#8220;Fake it until you make it&#8221; has a great truth. A key step to greater self &#8211; esteem is simply to adopt the stance of being a confident person who is totally comfortable in life. Like an actor, you can grow into a role. This is advise offered by Wayne W. Dyer in his book Real Magic: Creating Miracles in Everyday Life.<br />
&#8220;Act the part that you want to play. Go right out and without ever telling anyone else that you&#8217;re really a quaking, shivering mass of jelly inside, just act confidently in a given situation where no one knows you. In that present moment of your life. You are the new, miraculous, self &#8211; confident person.&#8221;</p>

And it is up to you, and you alone to devise techniques that will help you keep that drive within afire.</p>
<p>It is helpful to have visual goals. whatsoever that is you are working towards, make it visual. It maybe something material like a car, or a vacation you have been looking forward to for the longest time.<span id="more-50"></span>Take or cut out a picture of it and post it at a conspicuous place at work or at home where you can see it often. So that when you feel discouraged, this will remind you of your goal and will help you keep your spotlight.</p>
<p>Make a contract with oneself. According to motivational researches, people who write down to-do-lists are far more triumphant in achieving their intended goals than those people who just keep mental lists instead.</p>
<p>Putting something in writing somehow makes it more powerful psychologically speaking. This may also be the basis why most cultures have such a high regard in honoring contracts. In the contract, you may also include a certain reward that you will give yourself once you have accomplished the task.</p>
<p>After all, everyone likes to be rewarded for completing a good job. Even a simple pat on the back, “good job”, or “thank you” may do the trick to give the person the additional push to carry on, but unfortunately, these may not always be readily available. Considering that these are also essential in keeping oneself motivated, you must learn to find a way to get that encouragement on your own through pleasing yourself.</p>
<p>Abusive people lower your self-esteem and bring you down. Get these negative people out of your life. Surround yourself with positive people. Imitate their example. Smile amply and think happy thoughts.</p>
<p>These will give you a brighter outlook and lets you see a clearer picture of what you really want and a fresh mind to know what steps to take to get there. Rather than wait for things to happen, try to be proactive and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN. Inactivity idles the brain and stagnates your potential to reach your goals.</p>
<p>Read inspirational books and literature. These will help you improve your attitude and heal your mind. A book of success stories also proves to be encouraging. You will not only learn from others&#8217; experiences and derive confidence boosting insights from them but the story will be instrumental in motivating you to go for your goal and move ahead with your plans. If this still seems to falter, get training or education.</p>
<p>Oftentimes, not knowing how or where to start is frustrating. Knowledge is power. Having a clear understanding of how and where to start is empowering and it will provide the extra drive needed to hit the mark you are aiming at and follow it through.</p>
<p>Having enumerated all these tips and tricks to attain self-motivation, but still you seem to feel lacking that much needed drive, there is one last thing that you must try.</p>
<p>Whatever it is that you have been meaning to do, or wanting to achieve, JUST DO IT! Keep on aiming high and go for it! Actually getting your hands dirty best solves the problem of motivation. By “forcing” yourself to just do it, your momentum will pick up gradually as you go along and before you know it you have finished the task or have finally achieved your goal. Divide and conquer is the key.</p>
<p>Break down the apparently unattainable activity to small doable steps. Not only does it become less overwhelming, but seeing the &#8220;in the meantime&#8221; results will further your confidence that it can indeed be done.</p>
<p>Lack of motivation happens to us all, but if you do not encourage yourself to accept opportunities and be challenged, no one else will. It is most important to keep your eye on the goal, find ways to keep going, and in no time, you shall reap its benefits.</p>
<p>And if at the beginning you were just doing it for the material reward, you will also learn to realize that the fulfillment, satisfaction and self-achievement you derive from reaching your goal is a much enjoyable high that will keep the drive within constantly burning.</p></div>
