It is the understanding of failure as a driving force and what it stands for. I like to think it stands for False Evidence Appearing Real and the secret to overcoming it is to keep this in mind.</p>
<p>There is no success story that is without a fear of failure and in fact failing is a part of the end result. The most example of this is Thomas Edison, probably the greatest inventor of all. When he invented the light bulb, he failed 9,999 times before success was achieved at the 10,000th time. He was called crazy and urged to give up before he killed himself. Each time he failed, he stated he was one step closer to achieving success. What tenacity and persistence!</p>

<p>Anyone who wants to achieve anything in life must accept that failing is a big part of any success. The person who thinks that they are never going to experience some kind of failure is only deluding themselves. The only way to let go of the fear of failure is to accept that failing is a part of all things that constitute our personal growth and development.</p>
<p>Look at the soccer player who is at the height of his career and the top scorer. How many times do you think he misses the goal? I assure you it is more times than he finds the net. What about the movie star who had to go through hundreds of auditions to just get a part as an extra. I am sure all of us at sometime have gone for numerous job interviews without success.</p>
<p>We can let the fear of failure dominate our lives and then failure will be assured or be like the soccer player or movie star. All it takes is a desire and determination that failure will not be a part of our lives, but accepting that failing is going to happen if we want to achieve ultimate success. Once we understand this concept, then all fear of failure will start to fade away into the distance.</p>
<p>Look at your life as a work in progress, you are going to trip up from time to time and as long as you get up, dust yourself down and keep on moving forward in whatever you feel is a positive direction, then this attitude will bring its rewards. Don&#8217;t be put off with any setbacks, it is a part of everyday life and fail your way to success.</p>

The first aspect of keeping your outlook positive is realising that the world that we live in is not such a negative one. A few people would argue that reality has it that the world is a negative one, but this view is anti-reality.</p>
<p>It is critical to first acknowledge that there are positive attributes in the world. We must bear this in mind or else we would not be motivated to seek all that is positive and wholesome about our world. Life is merely a mixed package that offers mixed blessings. Therefore, we have to psychologically position ourselves to see and receive the positive energy in our social and physical environment.</p>

<p>Being positive refers to a range of feelings. You can be hopeful or just upbeat. Perhaps you are just optimistic about life&#8217;s opportunities and the future of mankind. When we hear of people being killed or we are constantly around negative people and situations, it may prove more difficult to maintain our positive outlook.</p>
<p>Positivity is the polar opposite of negativity. Therefore, in order to stay positive we have to both invite positivity and reject or resolve negativity. If you are busy, you&#8217;d have a hard time feeling idle. In the same way, if you are busy with positive things, you wouldn&#8217;t have time, energy or effort to feel negative. Fortunately, there are several ways to do this.</p>
<p><strong>Surround yourself with positive people</strong></p>
<p>Dr. Gary Smalley wrote that &quot;How you feel about life often boils down to how you feel about relationships&quot;. There will always be people in the world who seem more negative than positive. You do not have to surround yourself with such people, unless they happen to be family (which you wouldn&#8217;t have to tolerate as an adult even).</p>
<p>You must also acknowledge that a person doesn&#8217;t have to be negative entirely to have a negative effect on you. We have different chemistries with others. As such, great care we must exercise in choosing our significant others or those with whom we associate. They help determine how positive we feel and how quickly we rebound from inevitable negative experiences.</p>
<p><strong>Humour</strong></p>
<p>Researchers have found that when we smile, the physiological change releases endorphins that make us feel better. The fact that we are less likely to laugh when we feel negative or that we wouldn&#8217;t remember the good times in that mood, shows that we attempt to maintain the state that we&#8217;re in. A negative mood is easily broken with humour or made tenuous with a forced smile. We just have to laugh a little more by creating the circumstances for us to do so sometimes.</p>
<p><strong>Create</strong></p>
<p>Recall the cliche &quot;Be the change you want to see&quot;. Perhaps we also have to be the positivity that we want to see. You cannot simply expect to passively receive all that is positive about the world. It&#8217;s like trying to find a good partner without being a good one yourself. You have to actively seek and create the positivity around you.</p>
<p>Ever notice that if you smile, those around you are likelier to smile? It may not happen all the time, but think about the chances if your expression bears the sourness of a lemon. You can also create positivity by being good and doing good deeds as well. Since you see the positive results of your being positive, you will very likely remain positive.</p>
<p><strong>Love and belong</strong></p>
<p>When we feel &quot;love&quot;, we stimulate a certain part of our brain that makes us feel good. When we feel good, we tend to remember positive things and create positivity as well. We can love in a general sense (agape) or love our significant others (philia and eros). Belonging to our community and living for others brings with it a sense of purpose that allows you to seek solutions to prevent or ameliorate negative outcomes that affect you or other people.</p>
<p><strong>Serenity and empowerment</strong></p>
<p>A beautiful serenity prayer imbues us to accept the things we cannot change, change the things we can and have the wisdom to know the difference. Adopting this approach helps bring positivity by obliging us to accept the negative that is inevitable due to evil or poor ethics. It also encourages us to make a positive difference where and when we can. Using the belief that we can change and make a difference empowers us. A person who feels power and hope is unlikely to have a negative outlook.</p>
<p>There may be several other ways to be happy. Those may just be manifestations of some of the basic elements highlighted above. Empowering yourself is an essential way to overcoming the negativity that will invariably exist. You have to change you attitude to accept that there is more positive than negative around you. Then, if your reality doesn&#8217;t reflect this belief, create or modify your reality. Once you keep yourself occupied with positive influences around you, it is nearly impossible to have a generally negative outlook.</p>

<p>Negative emotions can affect your immune system, making you more prone to colds and &#8216;flu; it can affect your hormones &#8211; which is a particular problem for women, causing an increased likelihood of premenstrual tension and menopausal problems. Negative emotions can also affect your circulatory system, your blood pressure, your digestion (stomach ulcers and indigestion) and it also causes insomnia in a lot of people. Sleep is restorative and essential for our overall well-being, so if you are deprived of sleep you are not going to function very well in your everyday life.</p>

<p>Letting go of negative emotions such as resentment and guilt, worry and anger will benefit your life in so many ways. How do you know if you have unresolved negative emotions which are affecting you physically and mentally? Well, that is simple. If you are constantly imagining someone&#8217;s downfall or dreaming about them in some negative way then it is easy to say that you are harbouring negative emotions because of anger or jealousy or both. If you picture your own failures and misfortunes then it suggests that you are worried about your future or feel guilty about wanting success. When these thoughts are multiplied several times a day, you need to do something about it before it begins to cause stress.</p>
<p>Firstly, pay close attention to what your body is trying to tell you. For example, anger often expresses itself in a clenched jaw or fist, dry mouth, shallow breathing, impatience and a raised voice. These outward displays of anger do not stay on the surface. Inside your body, the anger is causing a chemical reaction which results in your blood pressure becoming elevated, your heart pounding faster, and your stomach tightening up. Your brain is likely to be sending a &quot;fight or flight&quot; message to your adrenal glands to release adrenalin throughout your body, which constricts your blood vessels and can potentially trigger a headache, back ache, high blood pressure, and, in the worst case scenario, a heart attack. As you can see, there is very little pay off for holding onto your negative emotions.</p>
<p>The key to letting go is to begin with your thoughts. It is our thoughts that create our emotions and luckily we have full control over what we think, even if it doesn&#8217;t always feel like that! If you have negative thoughts, for example an angry thought about someone you dislike, it stands to reason it will create a negative feeling within you. If you replace your negative thoughts with positive thoughts the effect is reversed. Positive thoughts make us feel good, they produce positive emotions such as joy, happiness, love and empathy. And these positive emotions have a wonderful, beneficial outcome on our bodies &#8211; protecting us from stress and all its bad effects.</p>

What&#8217;s the point, it&#8217;s not going to work &#8211; it&#8217;s not like people care.&quot; Wow &#8211; what kind of impression did that start you off with? I bet you thought I was negative, depressing and had no consideration for what others think. Hmm&#8230; well than I guess I got your attention and I&#8217;ve definitely made my point.</p>
<p>Having a positive attitude has a major impact, not only on yourself but also on those around you. From the situation I just put you into, you can tell I merely made the situation of writing this article impossible and negative from the start. If I continued on with such negativity, I&#8217;m sure I wouldn&#8217;t be able to finish it. Also, not only did I start myself off with a negative attitude, I also made you feel like the article wasn&#8217;t going to be worth your time, let alone valuable or positive.</p>
<p>Right from the start, as you sought advice or content on a positive attitude, you were probably wondering how this article would pertain. Of course, you wanted to leave instantly &#8211; no one wants to be around someone who is constantly negative and wears them down. If you want to be happy, if you want to build relationships, and if you want people to listen and trust in what you are saying &#8211; you need to have a positive attitude.</p>
<p>So, now that I&#8217;ve made my point, let&#8217;s expand on the process of obtaining a positive attitude that leaves a lasting impression, not one that makes people run.</p>

<p><b>Getting Started</b></p>
<p>Being positive isn&#8217;t always easy, especially for those who have been holding a negative cloud over their heads for a long time. You may feel as if the world is always pouring on you and the sun is never shining. You can change this though. It starts with a commitment. Each day you need to wake up and tell yourself that today will be a good day. Repeat in the mirror &quot;I will not allow things to get in my way, I will not let others bring me down, no matter what life throws at me, I will take each stride with a positive attitude and a belief that I am strong and able to get through anything.&quot; If you have a natural tendency towards sarcasm it&#8217;s going to be difficult at first, but keep at it. Day by day, you&#8217;ll be retraining yourself to believe in a more positive you.</p>
<p><b>Avoiding the Negative</b></p>
<p>Okay, so maybe you&#8217;re already a pretty positive person but, from time to time, you fall off the bandwagon for what seems like absolutely no reason. Well, those unexplained reasons may be more obvious than you think. Did you ever take a look at the people you surround yourself with? If they tend to me negative, &quot;mouthy&quot; or even sarcastic, this can have a toll on you &#8211; negativity is contagious, so watch out.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s look at some pretty common proof.</p>
<p>We all know what &quot;water cooler talk is&quot; &#8211; your sitting around at work, deciding you need a break, so you venture towards the water cooler. Before you arrived, you were feeling tired, but at the same time determined to make it through the day because you actually enjoy the project you are working on. By the end of the &quot;cooler talk&quot; you find your anticipation has disappeared and you&#8217;re thinking of going home &quot;sick&quot; &#8211; you think to yourself how this company doesn&#8217;t care for you anyways, they just gave Sally the pink slip the other day for absolutely no reason.</p>
<p>First of all, Sally was probably one of those people that used to hang out at the water cooler 75% of the day. She may have been always telling people about how she got her first warning, how they always stick her with the boring projects and how Tim &#8211; the newbie, got a promotion over her. While she continued to suck in those around her with negativity, her managers were watching from afar as she started to infect the company. Of course they didn&#8217;t fire her for absolutely no reason, she fired herself because of her negativity.</p>
<p>Whether it&#8217;s water cooler talk that has you boggled from time to time, or just a simple case of needing to feel blue, you can quickly recover by finding the little things in life that make you feel positive and by focusing on them; whether it&#8217;s spending time with your children, enjoying nature at its best, or even dining out with a friend &#8211; enjoying your favorite cuisine. Remember, it&#8217;s always much easier to be positive when you take the time to let positive influences into your life. And when &quot;water cooler talk&quot; has you feeling down, remember that your company hasn&#8217;t done anything to make you regret what you are doing &#8211; let others dwell on their negativity, not you.</p>
<p><b>Being Confident in Yourself</b></p>
<p>Apart from negative people, or being negative yourself, your own self evaluation can have a major impact on your attitude. Do you ever find yourself carrying on a conversation with a friend, only to leave it with a sense of sarcasm or hate towards yourself, almost as if you have left it in offensive terms? Or maybe you&#8217;ve felt as if a conversation has led to a disagreement amongst all other parties and a sense of blame on yourself? These sorts of thoughts, or doubt in yourself and the conversations you hold, are having a huge impact on your positive attitude. Out of all of those situations, you likely leave down, discouraged and feeling negative. Although you entered the situation with complete confidence, you were able to bring yourself down.</p>
<p>First, you need to stop blaming yourself. You can&#8217;t regret the conversation you had or the feeling you laid out on the line. Things happened that way for a reason and you need to stop blaming yourself or thinking that you have done something wrong. Stay positive and reinforce yourself that the problems will be left in the conversation and things will carry on &#8211; don&#8217;t dwell on the past. And when a friend throws out a sarcastic comment, don&#8217;t take it personally. If they were downright rude to you, leave the conversation with a grin and remind yourself that you are the better person because you were able to walk away.</p>
<p>No matter what happens, through conversation or just self esteem, remind yourself that it is only that person&#8217;s opinion and not reflective of you as a person. Whenever someone upsets you, let it go and walk away.</p>
<p><b>Making it Last</b></p>
<p>For beginners and experts, everyone needs to be aware that a positive attitude doesn&#8217;t happen overnight and can be broken at anytime. The situations life throws at us makes it hard for us to stay positive. But, the real challenge is not the situations, it&#8217;s being able to pull your best foot forward, stay positive and walk through them like they don&#8217;t exist. While no one can maintain a positive attitude 100% of the time, it is important to let negative thoughts go, to surround yourself with positive influences and to just try to enjoy your life. Remember, it&#8217;s the little things that matter. Take a time out each day to write down 5 good things that have happened with the past 24 hours. Practicing this will surely have you feeling better in no time.</p>
<p>Every day that you maintain a positive attitude is a step in the right direction. With practice, you can keep making those steps that will take you on a lifetime journey of positive thinking and behavior. And remember, don&#8217;t do what I did at the start of this article, rather do the opposite; approach each situation with a positive outlook and believe that only the positive will occur!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We can use <strong>affirmations</strong> to change, improve and reprogram our subconscious minds to work wonders and bring about wonderful changes in our lives. The main point about working with affirmations is that you want the wording to work for you. Feelings and emotions behind a thought is what helps the speed at which the desire manifests. Therefore, it is important that your affirmation sparks those good vibrations, feelings and emotions to get the manifesting ball rolling. For example, some people like lengthy ones and others like short and sweet. Some like it to rhyme and some like to sing it. Whatever works for you is best. But as you are saying your affirmation you will notice how well they are working by what your dreams reflect you.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s use our desire for money as an example; You are needing some money or wanting to add more prosperity to your life so you start using an affirmation: People Love To Give Me Money. And you are saying this all day and night to yourself and having a great feeling and thinking Wow! this is great and then that night you dream a dream that is dark and dreary, not prosperous at all. The dream points out to you that you have a block to receiving money or that you don&#8217;t believe that people would randomly give you money. Voila! the block is revealed. Thank yourself for pointing out this subconscious belief. This block can be changed but until you dreamt it you were unaware of this subconscious belief or disbelief and an affirmation will work for you once you change that belief. In fact, any of us who are not in the flow of money and prosperity have some kind of basic subconscious block to riches and prosperity.</p>

<p>How do you change the blocks? In a word, visualization. I suggest that you take your &#8216;block&#8217; and I will continue here with prosperity. Get into a meditative state, or just quiet the mind. Now repeat your affirmation and see, feel and hear the affirmation &#8211; use all your senses in a scene that you could conceive and believe happening. If you cannot conceive the idea and believe it with all your heart then you must use an affirmation that works for you. Maybe one more general in feeling, for example; More and more each day I am open and receptive to receiving prosperity.</p>
<p>Once you find the affirmation that clicks with you and as you change your belief (block) in your subconscious mind your night time dreams may show you how you are progressing or your dreams can also show you when you need to change your goals or when outdated beliefs are blocking your way of real spiritual truths.</p>
<p>Positive money beliefs in dreams can be represented by having gold, silver, money, jewelry, being surrounded by luxury in your dream backgrounds.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There has been much written on and spoken about when it comes to Manifesting your wants and desires. In fact, David and I did a few shows on that very topic. The one thing that I have found to be true and most important for Manifestation is:</p>
<p>Thoughts have Power!!</p>
<p>We all know or should know by now how the brain works. Electrical impulses send information to all areas of our bodies. Thoughts and images are all forms of electrical impulses. Here is where the connection gets lost for some people. Everything around us is a form of energy. Thoughts are a form of energy, the things that make up every aspect of our daily lives are forms of energy.</p>
<p>In the Law of Attraction Like draws Like. What does that mean? If we put it into to terms of our thoughts it means this, What you focus your thoughts on is what you draw into your life. I know we have all heard that thousands of times but what does that really mean? It&#8217;s quite simple, if say you are looking to become an actor, but you have thoughts let&#8217;s say right before an audition like, &quot;I don&#8217;t think I have what they need&quot; or &quot;I just know there Will be someone there who is better than me&quot;, chances are that is exactly what will happen. You called it into being, you made it real. Some would say that is the &quot;Law of Self-fulfillment&quot; and in a way yes it is. I would like you to think for a minute that it is the energy you focused on and in doing so brought into existence making your thoughts reality.</p>

<p>If energy draws the same type of energy to it&#8217;s self then your thoughts, conscious or sub-conscious are energy and where that energy is directed will be the result you receive. In the case of your health for instance, if your thoughts are always leaning toward the fear of getting sick, chances are you will be sick more often than someone who is not consumed by those thoughts.</p>
<p>If we take all that information and then funnel it into what we really want, how does that work? Think of what you want, what you really want not what you think will be of importance to everyone else or in other words, meet the approval of everyone else. Your real, true desire for yourself. It is not enough to simply think about what you want you must have a real picture of how getting what you want will impact your life, the lives of those around you. You essentially want to create a complete picture of what your Dream, Desire or want is. How it will feel, smell, sound, taste, how your thoughts will be when you have what it is that you want.</p>
<p>There are many ways to achieve this, we spoke of it during one of our shows, but I can&#8217;t stress this enough&#8230;You have to know exactly what it is that you want in order for you to get it. Your world, experiences, people will begin to enter the exact path that will lead you to what it is you want. Let me give you an example:</p>
<p>You want more money but right now in this moment you have a ton of bills..where do you think your thoughts&#8230;your energy is being directed? What you focus on is what you will get. We do live in a true energy environment which means energy draws to it the energy that matches it. If your thoughts are on how many bills you have you will find more bills and your attention will be drawn to those bills, like a circle. However, if your thoughts are on increasing your money and not on the bills&#8230;.if you direct your thoughts to seeing money coming in building up not going out&#8230;.opportunities for creating that money will begin to come into your world. People will begin to respond to your energy&#8230;opportunities will begin to show and money will begin to increase.</p>
<p>Now as far as how that money increases, that does not have to be known&#8230;.the only focus should be on the FACT that your money will increase. I don&#8217;t want you to think that you can simply think into existence all that you want. That is just the beginning you must also take steps that will lead you in the direction of what you want. When your thoughts are focused on what you want, when you begin to move into that direction, it begins a chain reaction of energy flow. The more focused you become on your Dream, the more opportunities begin to avail themselves to you. Keeping your focus on your Dream is a perpetual motion type of thought. You must work at it just as you worked at focusing your attention on the negative until it became habitual, so should you focus on your dream till those thoughts become habitual. Your thoughts should be focused on finding opportunities to fulfill your dream not on the disappointments of the unfulfilled dreams.</p>
<p>Remember to also be flexible in the pursuit of your dreams&#8230;the way you think they will come into existence isn&#8217;t always the way it happens. In Drawing your Dreams, Your Desires keep your thoughts open to all possibilities for them to come to you, be flexible. Pay attention to people, places and events because when you are open to the true Desire, that energy will draw it&#8217;s self to you through the people you come in contact with, the advertisements that catch your eye, subtle things will begin to happen and draw you to your Desire when you begin to take action toward what you want. When thinking of what you want use terms such as: I have, I am, I do&#8211; not I will, I want, I need. What we say, think and feel are all forms of energy that draw exactly what we put out. When fleeting thoughts of negativity creep in pay attention and correct them right away. It is as much a constant process is as worrying about things not going right was in the past.</p>

<p>Are you a winner or a loser? If you believe that you are defeated, then you are. If you think you are successful, then you are. Now, that&#8217;s not saying that you are successful in everything that you do, but you are successful at something, probably lots of things. The point is your attitude is key to your ability to see yourself as you really are.</p>
<p>I believe we are all winners. Each day that we awake and embrace another day, we are winning the race, we are showing the world that we are champions. We will not let the obstacles in life be our focus. We will use our energy to concentrate on our hopes, dreams and goals.</p>
<p>Start your day in a powerful way by beginning with positive affirmations. Remind yourself of all that you have to be thankful for. Declare aloud your plan for success. Write them down and read them back to yourself. Take time for some peaceful meditation, allowing your appreciation for life to fill your spirit with love and gratitude.</p>

<p>Take deep breaths, stretch your arms above your head and lower them back to your sides, slowly and deliberately. Avoid straining, and make sure to relax your face, neck and shoulders. Allow the stress to escape as your mind, body and spirit are filled with positive energy for a healthy balance both physically and mentally.</p>
<p>Dismiss negative thoughts and don&#8217;t allow them to rule your actions. Make your self-talk an affirmation of love and appreciation. I guarantee you that if you start each day this way, you will begin to fell less stress and have a better self-image, than punishing yourself with negative words and feelings.</p>
