			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you ever watched someone accomplish a task that you have not been able to accomplish? Do feelings of frustration occur? Does the mental chatter begin that says negative things about you and to you? Do you begin to feel inadequate and stupid? Have you ever considered that the other person may have spent more time practicing this task and thus has more advanced skills? So, if this is true, might it also be true that with more practice you could perform this task equally as well? Yes, that is true!</p>
<p>If you flip into negative thinking the task will become impossible to complete or to conquer. Thinking positive thoughts helps us to perform our tasks better. Think of the first time you had to program your cell phone? Did you know what to do? Did you give up or were you persistent and committed to the outcome? Did you stay positive with thoughts that said &quot;I will figure this out &#8211; I know I will.&quot; Now if you were presented with programming a new cell phone, it might be a different model, but you would not feel intimidated by the process. Correct?</p>

<p>Our brains are the center of our lives. We have over 50,000 thoughts per day. Just because a thought passes through your consciousness does not mean it is the truth. You can learn to challenge these negative thoughts and beliefs. A couple of simple phrases I use to challenge specific thoughts are &#8211; &quot;thank you for sharing,&quot; or &quot;cancel&quot;, or &quot;dismiss.&quot; Remember, a thought is only a thought not a call to action nor does the thought have any more meaning than the meaning you give to the thought.</p>
<p>As you approach new challenges, quiet your mind and pull forth those positive words and phrases that will support you in performing well. Begin to reprogram your thoughts &#8211; it is your brain &#8211; learn to manage it more efficiently. People believe this is impossible. Really? If we are not in charge of our thoughts, who is in charge?</p>
<p>As you begin to communicate with your thoughts you will begin to control the outcome of your results. Your thoughts have become part of you based on past experiences. We also hold on to other peoples&#8217; comments to us that might reinforce our negative self- talk. Change your thoughts, change your life.</p>
<p>Your self-identity is driven by your brain and how it has been programmed to think. Even though you failed at a task earlier in life; such as public speaking, does not mean you can not be a spectacular public speaker. Because this belief lives in your brain and, again, you are in charge of your brain. Practice positive self-talk and re-programming your brain.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In practice and in life, everyone desires to reach the peak as defined by each. The peak you desire could be different from your colleague or best friend. But, we all have a peak in mind.</p>
<p>If you think of the &quot;peak&quot; as a mountain, you begin in the valley and then you begin to scale the side of the mountain until you reach the top&#8230; the peak of the mountain. when you arrive at the peak&#8230; the celebration begins!</p>
<p>If you were to take a mountain climbing course, you would learn how to safely scale the mountain using a number of skills and tools needed for the climb. Depending on the mountain, will determine the amount of training and practice you will need. Scaling the hill in your backyard is different than heading to the peak of Mt. Everest.</p>

<p>C.L.I.M.B.</p>
<p>To arrive at your desired peak, you must begin climbing and continue to climb until you reach the peak.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how to use C.L.I.M.B to reach your peak:</p>
<p>C &#8211; You must be willing to CLIMB. C is for Climb.</p>
<p>L &#8211; Live in the Moment. You must live in the moment or you could slip and fall off the mountain.</p>
<p>I &#8211; Inspirational&#8230; you must inspire yourself and others. Climbing is a team effort.</p>
<p>M &#8211; Motivated. You must want to reach the peak and be motivated with passion.</p>
<p>B &#8211; Belief. You must believe that you can actually reach the peak.</p>
<p><strong>Climb</strong></p>
<p>To reach the top, you must be willing to begin climbing. Duh! You demonstrate your willingness when you open and continue to practice chiropractic in your marketplace. During your climb you can get bogged down by a number of elements. You may need to halt the climb and you make up for it when storm clears.</p>
<p><strong>Live</strong></p>
<p>You must learn to live in the moment. You can climb a mountain when you look down or in the past. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not arrived. You must live today. In the moment. Ask &quot;What&#8217;s Important Now?&quot; When you get in the moment and guide your decisions with W.I.N., you will reach the peak faster and safer.</p>
<p><strong>Inspire</strong></p>
<p>As the leader of your practice, you must be inspired to reach the peak and more importantly, you must inspire your climbing team to embrace your desired outcome. If your team is uninspired, you will be left dangling by a rope when you lose your footing.</p>
<p><strong>Motivation</strong></p>
<p>Without motivation, the desire, the passion, you cannot reach your peak. What motivates you? You need to build this into your climb. You need benchmarks along the way to inspire your motivation. You need to reward yourself and your tou. Passion and stamina are twins. When you have passion, it fuels your motivation to overcome all the obstacles that you encounter along the climb to the peak. Your motivation could be a physical or spiritual or a combination. But it must be motivational and have clarity. The clearer your motivation, the easier to stay focused on the climb.</p>
<p><strong>Believe</strong></p>
<p>Don&#8217;t even begin the climb unless you truly, honestly, with certainty, believe that you can reach the peak. Regardless of the amount of training,, coaching or tools you have, if you don&#8217;t believe in yourself, you will falter and potentially experience a devastating fall&#8230; losing everything.</p>
<p>You must look in the mirror and go deep into who you are. You must know what your purpose is professionally and personally and then begin your climb based on what you believe possible.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s not limit on how you can climb, but, you must believe you can complete the climb to the peak.</p>

<p>As it requires little but consistent steps to grow, so does it requires little steps to take to grow into becoming a disciplined person. You can not be discipline overnight. People who have tried it give up and reverse back to their early life of indiscipline. Discipline takes time to develop, but you have to be determined. The more you try to take disciplined steps, the stronger you become. For example, start with something small that makes you feel happy. It could be exercising for 15 minutes daily, waking up 10 minutes earlier etc. If you smoke 20 sticks of cigarette daily and you want to discipline yourself to quite that habit, you may start by smoking 19 sticks, latter 18 and lessen a stick daily. With time you will stop smoking eventually. If you try to stop smoking at once, you will end up going back to it again. The point is that you should take baby steps daily.</p>

<p><strong>2. Try not to Procrastinate</strong>:</p>
<p>Make a list of what you hope to achieve and determine to take action immediately. Set deadlines and make a promise to yourself that you will stick to your plans until you achieve them. Try not to procrastinate. Procrastination weakens you resolve to be disciplined. When you achieve little goals, it strengthens you inner resolve to set more goals and achieve them. The cumulative effect is that you increase you mind power which enables you to set bigger goals and achieve them.</p>
<p><strong>3. Every Day Counts: </strong></p>
<p>Strive to practice discipline in little thing daily. It could be waking up early in the morning at 5am to study for at least 15 minutes before doing exercise for another 15 minutes. If you skip a day, you discipline level will fall and this would further weaken your resolve to continue.</p>
<p><strong>4. Visualize your final achievement:</strong></p>
<p>Take some time to visualize how it would look like when you achieve you goals and aspirations as a result of taking disciplined steps daily. Outline what it would take to achieve your goals and take action immediately. The process of visualization helps you to maintain momentum even when you are distracted with desires that are not important.</p>
<p><strong>5. Get someone to coach you: </strong></p>
<p>Get someone to monitor your progress. It could be a friend of someone who is a trained coach. The benefits of having a coach are numerous. A coach points out where you are going wrong and put you on track. Through that means, you rate of growth becomes faster compared to when you are developing at your pace.</p>
<p><strong>6. Learn to deny Instant gratifications: </strong></p>
<p>Practice the habit of turning down some of your desires that are pleasurable. If you like watching television endlessly, limit the hours you spend on the TV screen, this can be achieved faster by fixing a time limit. Walk away from habits that decrease your resolve to be discipline; for example like taking too much alcohol. Deny yourself of some pleasure and force yourself to do what is important at the moment. Before taking action, think first. Think about the long term effects of your action.</p>
<p>Self discipline requires effort on you path. Though it may not be easy initially, but with persistence, you will master it and take total control of your life.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Whether we&#8217;re talking about your life&#8217;s work, your dreams, your daily job, your new endeavour or project, one thing is certain: and that is the less you are bothered about the result, the more likely that fruition, fulfillment and yes, also the result will come.</p>
<p>The result will take its own course; it will come in its own time. From time to time re-examine the way you&#8217;re approaching your daily tasks and trust the process of life. Go on doing your work, and whenever the time is ripe and you are ready, the result will come. Often unexpectedly.</p>

<p>More importantly even if it does not come, YOU will be fulfilled and will have no energy left over for grudge, gripe, complaint and jealousy or envy.</p>
</p>
<p>ou will have enjoyed the time you were totally absorbed in the dimension of totality the work or job demanded and without any regret for having again postponed what you really wanted to do in life and needed to do.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not ever about the result or even success, but about the fact that you gave it everything you had.</p>
<p>I revised a list of questions to-day that helped me to JUST DO IT. Here they are; You can add your own.</p>
<p>1. What is the greatest desire of your life?    <br />2. What resources do you need to realise your desire?     <br />3. What resources do you have?     <br />4. Do you need any further skills?     <br />5. Who can help you get what you want, who can inspire you?     <br />6. What will you gain if you get what you want and your desire is fulfilled?     <br />7. What will you lose if you get what you want and your desire is fulfilled?     <br />8. What is in the way of your fulfilling this desire?     <br />9. If you could change the way you lived your life is there any single thing you would change today?</p>

<p>4) Social Proof &#8211; we always look to see what others are doing, when we are not sure of a decision. A busy restaurant does better than an empty one (Its not about the food). People by more in a busy store than an empty store. Its impossible to stop a run on a bank.</p>
<p>5) Authority &#8211; we tend to put more weight on the sayings of those in &#8216;power&#8217;. Power in this case can be &#8216;in the spotlight&#8217;. Frank Kern is notorious for taking up all available oxygen when doing a launch f a product, so his is the most dominat voice in that market at that time.A Movie Star or (just for talkings sake ) a Golf Star have more weight and impact on our water cooler discussions than say &#8211; Mabel. (though they may be all doing the same thing).</p>
<p>6) Commitment and Consistency &#8211; we like things that are the same, or we perceive to be the same. We like people who follow through. We like people who keep to the same &#8216;story&#8217;.</p>
<p>Of course all six things can be manipulated to produce persuasion. But only for so long. The true &#8216;supersperson&quot;, &#8216;super persuader&#8217; actually IS all these things. And uses them only to produce beneficial, that is win-win situations for all involved.</p>

If only we could get out of the particular situation that disturbs our peace and look at it from the side, only than we would be able to rationally see what is happening.</p>
<p>Many people eventually do not see the light and the end of their tunnel. They just cannot find the way out. It is always the case that other people, when they hear that some people raised their hands on their own lives, very often can find the million solutions to the situations, which lead them to misery.</p>

<p>If only people, who are having those kinds of problems in their lives, could talk about it and try harder to seek for a help. But that is the biggest problem. They can maybe, but will they find the right person that will understand and will they find the right respond that will get to them. In many cases, they talk to someone who does not take them seriously and one ineffective attempt asking for help will lead to another, and that could easily end up tragically.</p>
<p>That is why, family is very important. It is not always easy to know what someone thinks and feels but what is crucial is good communication between family members. If you are part of someone&#8217;s everyday life, have casual talks about small and big things in life, you will be able to see if something is changing rapidly. There are signs always. It is less likely that someone is capable of doing something as drastic as ending his or her own life without at least some signs in behavior.</p>
<p>Never think that something like that cannot happen to member of your family. If you see that someone is having emotional difficulties dealing with life, start solving problem right away. Do not wait for problems to develop to the point where it will culminate in tragedy.    <br />Loving your family is important but more important is to stay close to them in a way that you know how someone thinks and breaths. That does not mean that you should push into getting to know everything. Any change should be noticed and acknowledged as something that could be resolved by just talking about it.</p>
<p>Sometimes people, who are in emotional troubles, could be better by just knowing that other people suffer too. It is good when people hear from another human something that he or she struggles with. That makes us all feel that we are not alone and the only ones struggling.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Think of your life like a huge mansion. The west wing represents your childhood; the east wing, your adolescence. There is a wing that represents your young adulthood, and one that holds the memories of your more recent adulthood.</p>
<p>There is probably a section of this home that reflects back on your pre married days as well as each child as they came into your life. And of course there is the area that represents the courtship with your honey, as well as the most recent years leading up to now. I&#8217;m sure you get the picture by now.</p>
<p>I bet if asked which rooms you spend the most time in they would be the rooms that are bright, have lots of windows, beautiful pictures and comfy furniture. These rooms represent the times in your life that you enjoy re-visiting. The memories that make you smile, laugh and look back on with fond recollection.</p>

<p>Now consider the rooms you have forgotten about. The rooms that at some point during your life you closed the door, locked it, and perhaps even boarded it up. These are the times in your life that have caused you pain, discomfort, disappointment and distress. The times you decided you never wanted to think about again and would just as soon erase them all together.</p>
<p>Unfortunately it doesn&#8217;t work that way!</p>
<p>Some of us have entire wings with rooms like these. For some, the basement has been the designated space for these forgotten moments in time. If you were to re-visit these rooms they would probably be covered with cobwebs, inches of dust, broken windows and they would be very, very dark.</p>
<p>It is these rooms however, that often call to us while we are stepping into our lives in a BIG way. When we make the decision to take back control and begin to live a more purpose driven life, we are lured back to these places because we have come to the time in our lives where we need to heal whatever happened to cause us to lock that door in the first place.</p>
<p>So often when a new client starts with me, she is taken back by all the gremlins and demons that come out of the woodwork as a result of her commitment to step it up in her business and her life.</p>
<p>It is this willingness to PLAY BIG that actually gives these old gremlins permission to show themselves. As you declare you readiness to Stretch Beyond Your Comfort Zone, your &quot;old stuff&quot; says &quot;OK Darlin&#8217;, let&#8217;s see how uncomfortable you are willing to get!&quot;</p>

<p>As you Stretch Beyond Your Comfort Zone and you become more aware of the rooms that are calling to you, that you haven&#8217;t visited in a while, get curious. For starters, just take a look at the sign on the door.</p>
<p>For example, if you&#8217;ve been avoiding public speaking and you know it has something to do with a bad experience on stage back in high school, consider slowing down long enough to envision that part of &quot;your house&quot; and as you enter it, approach the room where the memory from high school is, and look at the sign on the door. What does is read?</p>
<p>How do you FEEL as you look at the door? Are you nervous? Anxious? Scared? Envision yourself unlocking and opening the door&#8230; What does the room look like inside? What is the temperature? Is it dark or bright? Are there other people in this room?</p>
<p>Give yourself the opportunity to see this room (this experience from your past) as you are NOW. As the woman you have become.</p>
<p>What&#8217;s do you know now that you didn&#8217;t know then? What&#8217;s different for you now? As you look back on that experience, what did you learn from it that can add value to your current experience?</p>
<p>Visiting these rooms in our lives is a necessary part of the process as we grow and develop our relationship with ourselves AND it gives us the opportunity to heal old wounds. It is in the healing of these old wounds that allows us to continue moving forwarding and play FULL OUT.</p>
<p>Imagine walking out of each room with confidence and satisfaction that you are stronger and wiser for having had that experience.</p>

<p>- How do you think about your practice&#8217;s future?</p>
<p>Unfortunately determining your level of work satisfaction is not as easy as it sounds. One reason is that your overall sense of how well things are going tends to be biased by whatever emotion you are experiencing at the moment. Emotions, like moods, tend to be fleeting and very changeable. That is, your assessment will likely be different depending upon whether you have just snagged a great client or you have had an argument with your partner, staff member, or significant other.</p>

<p>Another reason is that your big work picture is only somewhat informative. You could be deliriously happy with the video marketing on your website but unhappy with your staff members&#8217; lack of overall marketing initiative. Also what is going well or badly in other domains of your life will be reflected in your work satisfaction.</p>
<p>To give yourself an overview, rate yourself on the following survey. Use a 1-7 scale with 7 as Strongly Agree; 6, Agree; 5, Slightly Agree; 4, Neither Agree Nor Disagree; 3, Slightly Disagree; 2, Disagree; 1, Strongly Disagree.</p>
<p>__ 1. My work and work life are just about perfect.</p>
<p>__ 2. My work conditions are terrific.</p>
<p>__ 3. Without question I am totally satisfied with my work life.</p>
<p>__ 4. To date I have gotten all the important things related to work I want.</p>
<p>__ 5. I would keep every aspect of my work and work life exactly as it is if I could relive my life.</p>
<p>(Scores: 30-35 &#8211; Way above average satisfaction; 25-29 &#8211; Above average; 20-24 &#8211; Average satisfaction; 15-19 &#8211; Slightly below average; 10-14 &#8211; Below average; 5-9 &#8211; Well below average satisfaction (Adapted from &quot;Life Satisfaction Scale&quot; by Dr. Edward Diener)</p>
<p>If you have anything other than a perfect score of 30-35, you will find it useful to see where your dissatisfaction. It can be minor, moderate, or major. Some of the typical valued life domains, besides work, are:</p>
<p>- Love relationships</p>
<p>- Finances</p>
<p>- Play/fun</p>
<p>- Friends</p>
<p>- Health</p>
<p>- Contributing to society (giving back)</p>
<p>- Spirituality/religiosity.</p>
<p>Now redo the above survey but this time answer the questions for each of your valued domains other than work. This will help you determine what is working in your life or not working and what may be impacting your feelings about how your work is going. Specifically ask yourself:</p>
<p>1. What is it that makes it satisfying or unsatisfying?</p>
<p>2. What are you grateful or thankful for?</p>
<p>3. Why do you feel grateful or thankful?</p>
<p>4. What needs to be changed in each of your life domains to make your life more satisfying?</p>
<p>5. Which domains do you think are impacting your those domains as well as in your work domain?</p>
<p>Recording this information in a log every other day for two weeks can help you see how your assessment changes as you consider the elements of your satisfaction. It can provide you with not only what needs to be changed but also ways to change it.</p>

The first aspect of keeping your outlook positive is realising that the world that we live in is not such a negative one. A few people would argue that reality has it that the world is a negative one, but this view is anti-reality.</p>
<p>It is critical to first acknowledge that there are positive attributes in the world. We must bear this in mind or else we would not be motivated to seek all that is positive and wholesome about our world. Life is merely a mixed package that offers mixed blessings. Therefore, we have to psychologically position ourselves to see and receive the positive energy in our social and physical environment.</p>

<p>Being positive refers to a range of feelings. You can be hopeful or just upbeat. Perhaps you are just optimistic about life&#8217;s opportunities and the future of mankind. When we hear of people being killed or we are constantly around negative people and situations, it may prove more difficult to maintain our positive outlook.</p>
<p>Positivity is the polar opposite of negativity. Therefore, in order to stay positive we have to both invite positivity and reject or resolve negativity. If you are busy, you&#8217;d have a hard time feeling idle. In the same way, if you are busy with positive things, you wouldn&#8217;t have time, energy or effort to feel negative. Fortunately, there are several ways to do this.</p>
<p><strong>Surround yourself with positive people</strong></p>
<p>Dr. Gary Smalley wrote that &quot;How you feel about life often boils down to how you feel about relationships&quot;. There will always be people in the world who seem more negative than positive. You do not have to surround yourself with such people, unless they happen to be family (which you wouldn&#8217;t have to tolerate as an adult even).</p>
<p>You must also acknowledge that a person doesn&#8217;t have to be negative entirely to have a negative effect on you. We have different chemistries with others. As such, great care we must exercise in choosing our significant others or those with whom we associate. They help determine how positive we feel and how quickly we rebound from inevitable negative experiences.</p>

<p>Researchers have found that when we smile, the physiological change releases endorphins that make us feel better. The fact that we are less likely to laugh when we feel negative or that we wouldn&#8217;t remember the good times in that mood, shows that we attempt to maintain the state that we&#8217;re in. A negative mood is easily broken with humour or made tenuous with a forced smile. We just have to laugh a little more by creating the circumstances for us to do so sometimes.</p>
<p><strong>Create</strong></p>
<p>Recall the cliche &quot;Be the change you want to see&quot;. Perhaps we also have to be the positivity that we want to see. You cannot simply expect to passively receive all that is positive about the world. It&#8217;s like trying to find a good partner without being a good one yourself. You have to actively seek and create the positivity around you.</p>
<p>Ever notice that if you smile, those around you are likelier to smile? It may not happen all the time, but think about the chances if your expression bears the sourness of a lemon. You can also create positivity by being good and doing good deeds as well. Since you see the positive results of your being positive, you will very likely remain positive.</p>
<p><strong>Love and belong</strong></p>
<p>When we feel &quot;love&quot;, we stimulate a certain part of our brain that makes us feel good. When we feel good, we tend to remember positive things and create positivity as well. We can love in a general sense (agape) or love our significant others (philia and eros). Belonging to our community and living for others brings with it a sense of purpose that allows you to seek solutions to prevent or ameliorate negative outcomes that affect you or other people.</p>
<p><strong>Serenity and empowerment</strong></p>
<p>A beautiful serenity prayer imbues us to accept the things we cannot change, change the things we can and have the wisdom to know the difference. Adopting this approach helps bring positivity by obliging us to accept the negative that is inevitable due to evil or poor ethics. It also encourages us to make a positive difference where and when we can. Using the belief that we can change and make a difference empowers us. A person who feels power and hope is unlikely to have a negative outlook.</p>
<p>There may be several other ways to be happy. Those may just be manifestations of some of the basic elements highlighted above. Empowering yourself is an essential way to overcoming the negativity that will invariably exist. You have to change you attitude to accept that there is more positive than negative around you. Then, if your reality doesn&#8217;t reflect this belief, create or modify your reality. Once you keep yourself occupied with positive influences around you, it is nearly impossible to have a generally negative outlook.</p>
